- Applications
- Western Blot
- Specificity of the RB1 (phospho S795) monoclonal antibody, clone 28B5 (Cat # MAB6764) as demonstrated by western blotting.
Crude extracts of human lung carcinoma cell line H1299 transfected with plasmid expressing Myc-tagged wild-type Rb (Lane 1), Rb (S795A, lane 2) or Rb (T821A, lane 3) were immunoprecipitated with anti-Myc antibody and the precipitates were analyzed by western blotting with monoclonal antibody 28B5.

- Gene Description:
- retinoblastoma 1
- Gene Ontology:

- Gene Summary:
- The protein encoded by this gene is a negative regulator of the cell cycle and was the first tumor suppressor gene found. The encoded protein also stabilizes constitutive heterochromatin to maintain the overall chromatin structure. The active, hypophosphorylated form of the protein binds transcription factor E2F1. Defects in this gene are a cause of childhood cancer retinoblastoma (RB), bladder cancer, and osteogenic sarcoma. [provided by RefSeq
